About the Film

In vibrant Mexico City, where every corner tells a story, A Ride for Emilio was born: an animated short film created to touch the hearts of young audiences. More than a simple journey through emblematic places, the film seeks to strengthen the bond between children and their families while gently conveying the importance of disconnecting from cellphones and engaging with the richness of life. Through this audiovisual story, we enter a world where the axolotl, opossum, eagle, ringtail and Mexican wolf venture through some of the city’s iconic landmarks.

Visually, the film uses the distinctive textures of watercolor paper, simple hand-drawn lines with a spontaneous quality, and a pastel color palette that allowed us to develop a fresh visual language suited to children.

From character creation to the final mix, every step of this journey was carefully crafted so that A Ride for Emilio would become not only a visual delight, but also a way to encourage children to connect with the real world—to explore, learn and grow.
